Children's Day, which is observed yearly, is dedicated to honouring children all around the world and to reminding adults of their own childhood memories.
Food Scheme commemorated this memorable day with the youngsters of the Ruga Fulani community as part of its enlightenment and outreach efforts. Children are innocent, and they make others happy. Children are one of the most prized possessions on the planet, and they are adored by all. Thus, Children's Day is observed to commemorate children's healthy development and enjoyment. Ruga Fulani is a village on the outskirts of Gwarimpa.
The children from the village attend the LEA Nomadic School, where the environmental conditions are hazardous. The classes have no ceilings, and the timbers that support the roof are exposed. Feces surround the school building due to lack toilet facilities. Despite the conditions, classes were in session at the time of the visit, with the students reacting enthusiastically to their teachers, oblivious to the circumstances around them because they simply do not know any better or have no other choice. The camp has a very high maternal and child mortality rate, particularly among children under the age of five. In his own tongue, he called the illness that kills the children 'Shunsuusu,' which means convulsion.
The day began with a series of enjoyable games prepared for the children. Children race while balancing bottles of water on their heads, play drums and make noise, sing and learn songs, and participate in other entertaining activities. Face-painting, carousel rides, a football game, and a plethora of other entertaining side attractions are available. For a moment, it appears to be a children's party, with the laughter and noise making it appear normal.
Later, the youngsters were examined by an educator, who distinguished between those who attended school and those who did not. The vast majority of students were absent from class. The school has shattered classrooms and walls, and the majority of its students sit on the ground to learn. They currently have kindergarten and early primary education classrooms, but they require government assistance. There are secondary school children who do not attend class because their parents cannot afford to pay for their education. After graduating primary school, the majority of them dropped out. Following the assessment, there were 145 boys in school and 86 boys not in school, as well as 161 girls in school and 158 not in school. A substantial percentage of children are clearly not enrolled in school.
At the end of the celebration, the children received gifts provided by the food scheme, and our crew sat and ate food with them. Overall, the day was enjoyable for the children and educational for the food scheme. It is critical that we offer activities like these where youngsters may express themselves. They are not thinking about the negative things that have happened for a while, which helps to alleviate their tension.
